Our fall trip to Iowa!

It's time for another post...a few weeks ago we all went to Iowa. 5 Daughertys, 4 Iowa Slushers, 3 Millers, 2 grandparents and a partridge in a pear tree. It was certainly an event. Cohen did great especially considering all the hours we spent in the car. We went to Logan's high school football game, a great pumpkin festival, Jake's game at Wartburg and Shedd Aquarium. We were kinda worried about how Cohen would put up with his cousins, but he loved them and held his own pretty well.

*We went to Brandt's Great Pumpkin Festival while we were out in Iowa and Cohen dressed up like a frog! Grandma Miller had found us a frog costume during the summer and we were ALMOST too big for it. But with mommy's love of frogs and Cohen's lack of ability to argue, we made it work. It was so cute, he even had little webbed feet. Too cute for the first Halloween!

*This is a picture of Cohen playing on the track at Wartburg. Go orange and black! As well as Cohen did for the entirety of the Iowa trip, he was at his worst at both the football games. He just hates to sit still and be held. So, after battling with him in the rain and wet at Logan's HS game, we finally gave in at Jake's game at Wartburg and let him go and play. Where did he get such a strong will?!? Certainly not from his mommy.....

*Cohen and "uncle" Jake after his game. Wartburg College is in northeastern Iowa and it's about twice the size of Anderson. They have a beautiful campus and an awesome new wellness center that should be finished for the start of Jake's sophomore year...hmm, that sounds familiar. They are the Knights and they are black and orange (yay!) so I guess if he isn't going to be in Indiana, at least he's following down a good path! :)

*PENGUINS! On the way home from Iowa, the Daughertys, Millers, and grandparents all stopped in Chicago and took a trip to the Shedd Aquarium. I don't know who was more excited, Nick or Cohen. We saw a 4-D Spongebob movie, dolphins, penguins (Cohen and daddy's favorite), fish, snakes, lizards, a komodo dragon (Nick's favorite) and tons of other marine life. We had such a great day and we had BEAUTIFUL Chicago weather.

*One of my favorite pictures from the trip. I had neglected to unpack my camera early on out in Iowa, so a lot of the pictures that I took are on Debbie or Candis' camera. But I had it with me for this event and I think this picture describes the event fairly well. We were trying to get a cute picture of all the cousins before we left Shedd, but as you can see, cooperation wasn't really working. Poor Cade is trying to maintain control and get Cohen to sit down. Clearly, that is not what Cohen is interested in. He would rather attack Cailin. Cue Cailin's fit. Cohen's happy, but not doing what he is suppose to do. I don't know what Carson is doing...trying to block out the noise?, going crazy?, losing his mind?....we may never know but this picture sums up the trip pretty well.
